Sally Francis
Senior Associate
Sally has been with Squier Knapp Dunn for the past six years and currently heads the market research department at SKD. She also assists with the firm's direct mail and media campaigns.
Corporate Market Research
Sally's market research includes work for corporate clients such as Allstate, American Express, Motorola, XM Radio, Kraft Foods and NRG Energy. In addition, she oversees the expansion of our market research department through exploratory projects using non-traditional and more cutting edge methods of research.
Political races and Special Projects
Sally has worked on a number of SKD's political campaigns and in 2009 she worked with Bill Knapp and Keith Kincaid on Mayor Michael Bloomberg’s successful re-election bid, producing and overseeing advertising for the campaign. In 2010 she will be busy with Virginia Energy Sense, a five-year campaign to reduce electrical energy consumption by Virginia residents, businesses and institutions.
In addition she has kept it local by working on Congressman Frank Kratovil’s 2008 campaign and Doug Gansler's successful race for Maryland Attorney General. In 2005, she was the creative director for the print campaign for Mayor Michael Bloomberg's re-election campaign. And in 2004, Sally coordinated the competitive for the Kerry/Edwards General Election campaign monitoring per state, the media buys and tracking television and radio spots.
In the 2007 cycle, Sally and Jim Mulhall were commissioned by Italian artist Francesco Vezzoli to help with his 2007 Biennale Venice Art Festival submission, "Democrazy." The alternate take on political advertising featured Sharon Stone and French philosopher Bernard Henri Levi as Republicans and Democrats running for the Presidency and was on international display in Venice for the six month duration of the festival.
Sally graduated summa cum laude with a B.A. in Political Science and a minor in Journalism from the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill. At Carolina, she wrote for the award winning newspaper, The DailyTarHeel, and served on the Honor Court. She currently lives in Georgetown with her dog Riley.
